Cars On Ice

Ryan and I took Brooks to see Disney on Ice this weekend in Atlanta. WOW!!!! I thought he was excited to see Thomas the Train last weekend! It didn't even compare!!

We got to Phillips Arena in perfect time to eat dinner and make it to the show on time. But, when we got out of the car, I realized I forgot my camera! I was so dissapointed. I have always been picture crazy and I can't believe I forgot my camera at such a special event! I wanted really cool pictures for Brooks to have to look at later. Ughhh! We found a store in the CNN center that sold disposable cameras so I do have some pictures, but they aren't so great. Better than nothing though :)!

Once I got over the camera ordeal, we had an amazing time! Ryan and I both agreed it was better than we expected....except the whole second half was about fairies. Brooks wasn't really feeling the fairies, you know!

Ryan and Brooks at the CNN center...had to make sure the camera worked!

Brooks doesn't want to use his sippy cup anymore. He is so independent!

This picture was taken when we got to our seats. Brooks did not like that it was dark. I didn't realize how scared he was until I saw this picture.

I can't believe he actually wore this hat! I hope that's a good sign that he'll wear his Halloween costume (Yes...he's going to be Lightning McQueen!).

Mater came out first!

Look at that face!! Priceless!!

Then Sally....

And Flo and Ramone...

Finally....Lightning!!
+

"Yay!" (He literally says "Yay" and claps for everything right now!)

What a happy little boy!

Go Dawgs!

This is how Brooks watched the game Saturday! He had his fire truck boots on since he helped Daddy earlier that morning at the fire demonstration and he did not want to take them off all day! After he got his diaper changed, he insisted "Boots on" and "No pants!"

Brooks's Cool Daddy!

Ryan has been a volunteer fireman for the city of Madison for about 2 1/2 years now. He absolutely loves it and Brooks thinks it's pretty cool, too! He loves to watch his daddy drive the firetruck and he always enjoys when Ryan takes him to visit the fire station. This weekend though topped it all! Ryan brought home the mini fire truck to spend the night at our house! The fire department had a kid's program at Chick Fil A over the weekend and Ryan was responsible for picking up the mini truck Friday evening and taking it back first thing Saturday morning. Sooo....Brooks went with Ryan to pick up the truck and Daddy took him for a ride in our neighborhood when they got home. What an awesome surprise!!

It's hard to see in this next picture, but Rainey chased them all around the neighborhood!

Ughhhh!

I have been at home with an eye infection (which I refuse to actually call pink eye) all day. I literally catch EVERTTHING from my kids at school!

Sooo...I decided to use the time to get caught up on some papers for my master's class and it has totally reminded me of how much I don't want to be in school anymore! If you don't know, I have been working on my master's at UGA since before Brooks was born! I know, right?! That's a long time...and the worst part is that the end is not in the near future. My professor suggested I take time off when Brooks was smaller and I don't regret that one bit! The problem is that I just have no desire to do it anymore. I would so much rather spend time with my family than worry about school! Ughhhh!

Okay...I'm good now...just needed to vent!

A Day Out With Thomas

Last October, some friends of ours took their son to see the REAL Thomas the Train. After hearing how awesome it was, we had to take Brooks this year...especially considering he is a freak when it comes to Thomas and McQueen!

So...Saturday we took Brooks to ride the real Thomas! And...since Kay Kay and Gandaddy live close to Cordele, they got to go, too! I started trying to explain that we were going to ride Thomas towards the middle of last week, but Brooks never really understood. Mentioning it just made him want to watch his Thomas movies! Friday night (the night before we got to ride Thomas) my wheels finally started turning and I got the idea to show him pictures online from last year's event. It's a good thing it took so long for me to get a bright idea...Brooks talked about Thomas ALL night! He would roll over in his sleep and say, "Thomas...Thomas." Then, at 7:30 the next morning (the day we went to ride Thomas) he woke up asking for Thomas again. This was strange because he ALWAYS wakes up asking for Kay Kay when he's at her house. We spent the whole morning watching Thomas movies at my parents and then we watched more Thomas movies in the car ride all the way to the park. It was truely a day full of Thomas! When we finally got there, I thought Brooks was going to hyperventilate and we couldn't see anything but the signs! Then...when we actually made it to Thomas, he was just in awe! Ryan and I thought he would go nuts, but he was actually pretty mellow. It seemed like he just didn't know what to think! Funny! There were so many precious moment that I didn't want to leave out so I am posting tons of pictures. Enjoy!

On the trolley ride to see Thomas....so cold!

So many train tables...so little time!

"THOMAS!!!!!!"

So excited!

We passed the Marina where Ryan and I had our wedding reception on the train ride. It's strange to think that Brooks wasn't even here back then!

Our $8 Thomas balloon popped twice!!

"Bye Thomas!"

Brooks wanted nothing to do with Sir Toppam Hat...

This Thomas was made of Legos...

Brooks Goes to the Pumpkin Patch...

I know life is definitely different when we pass up the Georgia/Tennessee game to take Brooks to the pumpkin patch! Well, that's just what we did and it was so much fun! From the kiddy maze and the hayride to the cow train and the pig races, Brooks loved it all!

"Ewww...cows Mama!"

He actually made it through the maze to Daddy! So cool!

Brooks got a big pumpkin... And a little pumpkin!

P.S. We did make it home in time to watch the game on television with some friends! We're not that good!
