The Annual Ghost Tree

I must admit I tend to go a little overboard when it comes to decorating for the holidays. I just get so excited..especially now that we have Brooks! His reactions to things that are outside of our typical routines are priceless. He just started this new thing where he covers his mouth and says "Ah!" when he sees something he thinks is neat. God love him...he's such a nut! That being said, we started our Halloween decorating last night. Every time I pulled something out of storage he would do his "Ah!" routine and jump up and down. Needless to say, we had a great time getting into the Halloween spirit. Brooks and I finished his room and our front porch first, but we had to wait until the rain stopped to make our ghost tree. This was Brooks's favorite part! "Oooo...ghostie! Mama...Daddy...ook!"

First, Ryan and Brooks went to look for a limb for our tree. They were trying to make scary faces with the flashlight in this picture, but it didn't quite turn out. All I got was a handsome picture of my boys. Darn!

Brooks held the tree while Daddy put the dirt in...

Then, they had to pack the dirt in the witch's cauldron...

After we "planted" our tree, we brought it inside to decorate. We already had ghosts made from last year so all we had to do was retie them with fishing line.

Brooks is having another one of his "Aw!" moments in this picture!

Now we're really getting excited!

Oh yeah!
We finally convinced him to calm down so he didn't fall out of the chair!

Ta-da! We tried to get Brooks to pose for a picture with our ghost tree, but he was scared to stand on the table (please don't call DFACS...I was standing really close...promise!). He kept saying, "No fall, no fall!" "No, baby. Mommy won't let you fall!" "OK. No fall, no fall!"
